Software Designer, Stockholm

Job Description:

Edgeware's Software Design Engineers strive to deliver cutting edge functionality and performance using a combination of our state of the art purpose built hardware, and modern standard software components*. We tackle and solve huge technical challenges as the company pushes the limits of video streaming and content delivery. We have a team of highly skilled engineers working with this in an agile environment located in central Stockholm (see map). We are looking for a highly motivated person to join our team.

As a Software Design Engineer you will design and implement functions that must be able to scale to huge proportions in terms of bandwidth, storage, concurrent users etc. This requires a mindset capable of understanding how systems and functions interact and behave on a large scale. The task of designing such systems is very challenging, highly stimulating and, for the right person, a lot of fun.

Requirements:

Degree in Computer Science or similar
Excellent programming skills. Preferably in C/C++, Python, or Java
Experience of networking and network programming
Strong skills in Linux

Other meritorious knowledge:

Experience of Big databases
Google web toolkit
html5

Personal skills:

Structured and analytical
Able to take initiatives and work without detailed instructions
Well-developed communication skills
Willing to take responsibility for technical (and other), issues
