KPN implements Edgeware’s video servers as part of a solution developed by Nokia
Siemens Networks to provide advanced VOD services
Stockholm – February 1, 2011 – Edgeware, the technology leader in distributed video
delivery, today announced that it has been chosen by KPN, a leading European
telecommunications and ICT provider, to deploy its distributed video delivery architecture
and products as a part of a solution provided by Nokia Siemens Network (NSN).
Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) has selected and implemented Edgeware as a key
element of its overall advanced on-demand TV and video offering and specifically its
market leading Ubiquity Multiscreen TV™ solution at a global level. Using this solution,
NSN will replace KPN’s existing platforms with Edgeware’s Orbit-2X and WebTV
servers.
Edgeware’s Orbit video server platform features built-in capability to record live TV
channels, enabling KPN’s IPTV infrastructure to deliver its subscribers advanced on-demand
services, as well as support for advanced linear TV functions.
