To deliver a subtitle file that is in full sync with the corresponding video file is key for high quality subtitling and ultimately, the TV viewer’s quality of experience (QoE). Occasionally video files have missing frames which the subtitle preparation system needs to handle. It is therefore important to make sure the subtitles don’t lose sync with the video file even in the event of missing video frames. And, furthermore, the subtitling preparation software must handle all types of video formats and languages.
Edgeware’s Cavena-based subtitle preparation system, TEMPO, is used to edit the text, add the accurate time code matching the video file, and rehearse the result against a browse copy of the original program, i.e. perform a quality check. TEMPO provides a subtitle file with text, time codes, text position and text attributes. It also has a built-in system to compensate for missing video frames and provides high quality subtitling files from low quality video files.
TEMPO is a professional subtitle preparation system used by thousands of professional subtitlers around the world supporting all major subtitle formats and languages.
